Graduate Training

We are accepting graduate students for rotations in the 2025/2026 academic year. Graduate students in the UVA BIMS and/or MSTP programs are welcome to reach out to Uday directly via email to discuss possible projects. We are currently seeking two graduate students to join the lab for dissertation research projects. Students must be affiliated with UVA BIMS, or the MSTP program as we cannot directly admit PhD candidates.

Postdoctoral Training

Prospective postdoctoral candidates should send a cover letter, CV, and contact info for three letters of reference. Prior experience in bacteriology, virology, biochemistry, or structural biology (Cryo-EM) is required.

Undergraduate Research

UVA undergraduates interested in microbiology, biochemistry, virology, or biochemistry are welcome to perform research as volunteers or for credit. Please contact Uday directly if interested.

Volunteer Opportunities

The Tak lab welcomes research volunteers (High-school students, outreach programs, etc) for in-person laboratory research and/or remote computational research projects. Please contact Uday directly if interested.
